Wine:

The 2017 Red Chambolle-Musigny shows lovely intensity and ripe maturity, with a delicate, understated style that's immediately appealing. Subtle hints of forest floor add depth to this refined Pinot Noir, which is already in a perfect drinking window. It’s beautifully balanced, with fine tannins and a restrained touch of oak, finishing with elegant notes of rose and cherry. A charming wine to enjoy over the next three years.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vatted for 8 to 15 days, aged for 8 to 10 months in French oak barrels (of which 15 to 20% are new).

Color:

Good intensity red with a light garnet disc.

Nose:

Delicate and lightly extracted, with hints of underbrush complemented by subtle oak.

Palate:

The texture is a blend of silk and velvet, with fine tannins delivering a charming and balanced wine that finishes on notes of rose and sour cherry.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Small game, wild mushroom fricassee, herb-crusted leg of lamb, Vacherin, Cîteaux.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2027.
