Wine:

From a parcel on the upper slope with very rocky soil and another adjacent to "Grands Epenots" with deeper soil, the 2022 red Pommard is a highly pleasing village wine that will be enjoyable from its youth. Right away, the nose reveals a lovely, juicy, and expressive Pinot Noir, with the vintage's maturity well-defined, framed by subtle aging aromas. Notes of black cherry and sour cherry emerge, weaving into a fleshy and voluptuous texture. A beautiful wine to savor at the table. Rated 93/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, traditional vinification in open vats, with punching down and pumping over as required.
Aged for an average of 12 months.

Color:

An intense ruby-carmine red.

Nose:

Beautifully ripe grapes, with aromas of black cherries and hints of morello cherry.

Palate:

Full-bodied and voluptuous, with round fruity flavors, this wine is accessible from its youth, and delivers a soberly aged juice of fine freshness.

Decant before serving between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Wild boar stew, lamb with cumin, Peking duck.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029.

It is always a joy and a pride to discover new talent, especially in Burgundy where availability is scarce, and Domaine de la Galopière is one of our newest gems.

Established on 11 hectares in the Côte de Beaune, this estate boasts high-quality plots in Meursault, Savigny, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Pommard. We immediately recognized their potential and selected these two cuvées for their outstanding value and pleasure.
