Wine:

Delicate and refined, the 2022 red Gigondas Romane Machotte opens with a soft, powdery nose that evokes peony and floral essences, along with hints of spices, pepper, and macerated fruits. Its elegant, full-bodied structure features silky tannins and benefits from understated aging, with a touch of firmness on the finish that suggests excellent aging potential of at least 10 years. Rated 94/100 by our Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Vinification for 21 days in concrete vats. Aged for 12 months in foudres and oak barrels.

Color:

Intense red with carmine highlights.

Nose:

Powdery, aromatic nose, delicate aromas reminiscent of peonies with the presence of Grenache, notes of spices, pepper and macerated fruit.

Palate:

The palate is elegant and full-bodied, with fine tannins and restrained ageing.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Prime rib with rosemary, vegetable tian with Provence herbs, black olive tapenade.
