AWARDS

Cuvée rated 94/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

The 2022 white Meursault Vireuils, showcasing remarkable purity in this ripe vintage, presents a refreshingly clean and mineral profile with striking limestone notes. The oak, while present, enhances the wine without overpowering. The wine radiates vibrant energy and a fine juice, featuring a full and dynamic heart. Best enjoyed over the next ten years, it pairs wonderfully with poultry vol-au-vent, mushroom sauté, or shrimp risotto. A delightful discovery from a climat also favored by the esteemed Domaine Coche-Dury of Meursault, which holds a neighboring plot. This wine, benefiting from aeration in a decanter or serving in large glasses, is rated 94/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, crushed before pneumatic pressing. Overnight settling in stainless steel vats, followed by gravity-filling.
Aged in oak barrels for 14 months (20% new).

Bright light gold.

Nose:

Fresh and mineral, marked by beautiful limestone accents.

Palate:

Fine and energetic, this cuvée has a full-bodied mid-palate and a juice of great purity and dynamism.

Food and wine pairing:

Poultry vol-au-vent, pan-fried mushrooms, prawn risotto.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2033.

Situated in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Philippe Germain is a hidden treasure. Eschewing publicity and even declining offers from top restaurateurs to feature his wines, this exemplary, somewhat rebellious estate embodies remarkable success.

Relatively unknown and primarily distributing its cuvées to private individuals, the estate is exceptionally offering us a rare glimpse inside!
