The estate and the wine |
|
|
The Hudelot family first planted a few vines in the early 50's, but it was only in the 60's that the estate expanded significantly. Today, the Maison Patrick Hudelot manages 30 hectares of vines and is one of the most important in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits area. The wines are made from organically grown grapes |

Domaine Hudelot's Les Genevrières Red 2009 gives up slightly peppery aromas on the nose. On the palate, the supple tannin gives way to a very long, succulent ensemble. With blackcurrant and candied fruit notes, this is an intense, delicious wine, faithful to the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits terroir. |

The grapes are sorted and completely de-stalked. The must is fermented naturally in vat for around 3 weeks with daily punching of the cap and pumping over to help fermentation if necessary. This wine is aged in oak casks for 12 months (20% of which are new) before bottling. |
