The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A true icon of Barolo and Piedmont, Giuseppe Mascarello is one of Italy’s most celebrated names. Founded in the late 19th century, this historic family estate has stayed true to its roots, embracing gentle, environmentally conscious practices with no unnecessary intervention.

The estate boasts an extraordinary 15 hectares of vineyards, including its crown jewel—the nearly exclusive 6-hectare Monprivato cru, one of the region’s most prestigious sites. With additional parcels in prime locations and winemaking precision inspired by Burgundy’s finest, Giuseppe Mascarello has earned global acclaim.

Coveted by collectors and enthusiasts alike, these wines are a rare treasure, making ownership both a challenge and a privilege.
Wine After more than six years of aging, the 2017 red Barolo Monprivato is starting to reveal all its secrets. This elite wine, born in the Monprivato area of Castiglione Falletto, continues to deliver immense energy, complexity, and aromas. It's particularly marked by a very open floral and black fruit notes accented with subtle smoky touches and tobacco. In this rich vintage, it showcases finesse and freshness, already very approachable but capable of aging gracefully for years. With great persistence, it offers the quintessence of Barolo! Rated 96/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. Traditional vinification during 20 to 25 days. Aging in Slavic oak barrels for about 30 months. Bottling is done 6 years after the vintage.
