Wine:

Perfectly reflecting the identity of its terroir, the 2018 red Saint-Joseph Terroir de Granit offers ultra-pleasing, juicy aromas of fruit, with consistency and substance. We love this balanced alliance of structure and freshness, sprinkled with notes of black fruit, licorice, and charcoal, with a floral and minty accent. Sovereign balance, terribly tasty, with juicy fruit and the peppery side of syrah, it displays a beautiful sap of tannin that ensures quality length and shows lovely potential. A very fine wine, already very enticing, which will keep for another ten years or so.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vinified from whole grapes. Aged for 12 months in tuns and barrels, followed by 2 months in vats.

Color:

Deep, dark red.

Nose:

Delicious aromas of black fruit and licorice mixed with notes of charcoal and floral, mentholated touches.

Palate:

Full-bodied and tasty, with juicy fruit, this wine is perfectly balanced and long-lasting, giving it superb potential.

Temperature:

Decant or serve in large glasses, between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Braised meats, lamb chops with Provence herbs, Tandoori chicken, roast duck and melting potatoes.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028

Domaine Guy Farge is a master at producing superb wines from the finest areas of the Northern Rhône Valley. The terraced plots, the totally manual work, partly carried out by horse, the meticulous approach to vinification, nothing is left to chance. All that's left in the bottle is the truth about great wine: delicious, sensitive juices with bursting flavors of fruit.
