Wine:

The 2016 San Lazaro is a plot-based wine, isolated on a sandy terroir, specifically for this vintage because it expressed a superior tonality that year. From vines dating back to 1956, just 1.62 hectares contribute to this exceptional wine of magical finesse. Balance, length, refinement, it's all there. A wine produced in small series.

Vinification:

Hand harvested in 10 kg crates.
Vinification in open wooden vats, with cold maceration for 24 to 48 hours, fermentation for 10 to 12 days with daily punching of the cap.
Aged in new French oak barrels for 10 months.

Color:

Deep red.

Nose:

Expressive aromatic palette of ripe red fruit, fresh and elegant.

Palate:

Long, powerful tannins give this wine its finesse and style.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Codfish, leg of lamb, red meats, cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028.

Robert Parker is adamant! For him, Bodega Artadi produces "one of the greatest wines in Spain and in the world". In fact, it is one of the very few bodegas to have been awarded the maximum score of 100/100 several times.

This true Spanish institution produces some of the most highly-rated wines in the world, with unrivaled race and finesse. This legendary quality is the work of one of Spain's most brilliant and creative visionaries: Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle.
