Wine:

A true southern gem! The 2020 red Gigondas Tradition balances its sunny vintage with magnificent freshness. Whole-cluster fermentation adds finesse, contrasting beautifully with the generosity of the cru, which here exudes elegance and subtlety like never before. The fine tannins and balanced structure revolve around a lovely, sappy, and fleshy juice with notes of black truffle, tapenade, chocolate, black olive, spices, and garrigue. This is a truly southern wine that asserts its substance. A grandiose bottle, promising absolute delight. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Harvested by hand. Vatting for 4 weeks. Aged in old tuns.

Color:

Intense, brilliant red with ruby highlights.

Nose:

Intensely aromatic with aromas of red and black fruits underlined by notes of truffle and black olive tapenade.

Palate:

The palate is well-balanced, with chocolate, spice and garrigue flavors over a concentrated, tannic structure. A sunny cuvée, expressing assertive maturity.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roasted veal chop with cherry tomatoes pan-fried in olive oil and garlic, grilled duck breast and pan-fried eggplants.
