Enthusiasts will love it!
Elaboration:
Non-peated. Blend of grain and malt whiskies. Aged for 5 years in American white oak casks previously used to age other whiskies. Not chill-filtered.Color:
Intense golden amber, brilliant.Nose:
Powerful, with aromas of dried and iodized fruits, incense and sea spray, mixed with hints of dry grass, cut hay and dried apricot.Palate:
Supple, round, with a fine attack, it is in the persistent palate that it develops its great intensity.
Temperature:
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Glencairn whisky glass.Food and wine pairing:
As an aperitif, digestif, on its own or for water lovers, we suggest a still, neutral, fresh spring water. The Japanese sometimes accompany their fish meals with whisky served as mizuwari: the whisky is reduced by two-thirds water and a few ice cubes to give it an alcoholic strength equivalent to that of wine.
Hinotori is a small Japanese distillery founded in 1949. "Hinotori" means "phoenix" in Japanese, which explains the illustration on the bottle and box of this whisky. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Hinotori released this limited edition, a non-chill filtered whisky aged for 5 years in American oak barrels (white oak) that were previously used to age other whiskies. Crafted on Honshu Island, Japan's largest island, this 5-year-old blend is a combination of grain and malt whiskies.
